Who the sh.t is Kingsley Zissou?

In which the fifty item limit wrecks everything. {Project Runway audition}
Attention judges: I am fully aware that someone else has used Gemma Arterton as her model, which was not the case when I started my set, but hey first come first serve :) Should I be accepted, I would be more than willing to change my model, but for this set I honestly just couldn't make any other heads work. Apologies!

AUDITION FORM

★Name★ Sarah Tate
★Age★ 24
★Hometown★ Truro, NS (Canadaaaaa)
★Education★ MA, Classical History

★What's your everyday style?★
My everyday style is based on the fact that I am a.) a poor grad student, b.) am awkwardly shaped, and c.) a poor grad student. This all boils down to the fact that my wardrobe reflects my empty wallet and the lack of actual places to buy clothes that are not meant for teenagers in my town. However, my everyday style is mostly a shirtandjeans + cardigan/blazer + flats/Chucks = Sarah. This, however, does not reflect in my design choices.

★Type of clothing you design?★
A lot of my designs tend to take inspiration from either historical fashion styles or fantasy and sci-fi (and by sci-fi I really just mean steampunk). I tend to make slightly more costume-y pieces rather than things that might be more ready-to-wear, but I’m more interested in the fantastical element of fashion, the kind you see in films and in photo stories. This probably comes from the fact that I’m from a small(minded) town in Eastern Canada, wherein everyone thinks the height of fashion is still plaid shirts and jackets (here we call those tacky quilted plaid jackets ‘Cape Breton dinner jackets’) and tights with dresses and/or as pants. So I guess you can see where my desire for fantasy comes from.
I'm also pretty big on details.

★If you could describe your design style in one word, what would it be?★

★What colors do you use and wear the most?★
I wear a lot (A LOT) of dark colours: black, charcoal, purple, navy blues, etc. Only recently I’ve started wearing bright greens (in small amounts) and burgundies (or oxblood, whatever people want to call it). In my designs, I tend to use a lot of blacks and blues, but I like to mix things up with neutrals and some bright colours. However, the colours I use largely depends on what I’m designing. Right now, I’m kind of into black and gold.

★Favorite designer?★
McQueen (pre-Sarah Burton), Miuccia Prada (both Miu Miu and Prada), Dolce & Gabbana, Dean and Dan Catan (DSquared), Gaultier, Guillaume Henry (Carven), the Rodarte ladies, Dior, and Christian Lacroix. I also have a lot of favourite costume designers, including Michele Clapton (The Devil’s Whore, Game of Thrones), Alexandra Byrne (Elizabeth, Elizabeth: The Golden Age), Eiko Ishioka (Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Fall), and Jacqueline Durran (Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina).

★Article of clothing you cannot live without?★

★What makes you different from the other designers?★

★Which celebrities do you think have the best style?★
Cate Blanchett, Gemma Arterton, and Lily Collins.

★If you could style anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?★

★What is the thought process behind your designs?★

★What type of themed challenge would you like to see?★

★If you won the million dollar prize, what would you do with the money?★

Set inspiration from @girloverboard.

6.14-6.15; introductions.
make an introduction with your character, so you can plot relationships with other characters.

Okay, I'm really really behind, but here's my intro set finally! Feel free to stop by and say hello to Nora, especially fellow Puffs, or anyone really.

Just in case you want to know a little more about Nora: http://www.polyvore.com/medias_most_powerful_entity_on/set?id=84775548
Also, if anyone's interested, Nora spends a good part of the beginning of the year (including her trip to Diagon Alley) trying to enlist volunteers for the Squawker. This year she's especially on the lookout for a Slytherin insider because her past attempts with Polyjuice Potion have typically only ended in disaster.

The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power because they control the minds of the masses. {crucio lux audition}
♑ audition info.

name; honora ‘nora’ (or ‘norie’) baumbach
age / year; 16 // sixth year
house; hufflepuff
blood status; unknown (adopted by muggles)
model; ming xi

amortentia; newspaper parchment, soap, chai tea, bergamot, after-rain scent, grapefruit, burnt out matches
patronus; ironically, a badger
boggart; death eaters destroying her family
house / quidditch positions; seeker
wand; black laurel 10 ¾ inches, unicorn tail hair
broom; nimbus 2000 boooiiiiiiiii

personality; friendly and sociable, Nora tends to be a typical Hufflepuff in some respects, though she does have enough sass to go around. She doesn’t take sh.t from anyone, especially naughty Slytherins (or anyone else who thinks they’re better in general). Most of all, she’s a freak for organizing things; it’s how she keeps herself on schedule. She’s fairly charismatic and has the respect of most of the school and prominent citizens of Hogsmeade for her entrepreneurial tendencies.

likes; being in charge, magic, butterbeer, the smell of new parchment, being in charge, debating with Ravenclaws, being in charge, organizing things, gobstones, being productive

dislikes; not having things go according to plan, replacing broom twigs, controlled media, not being able to have a computer at school, divination, the Hufflepuff stereotype, sloppy drunks, that weird musty smell in the greenhouses, mismatched socks, people who don’t try

bio;
Raised in York by her adoptive parents, Nora had a relatively unremarkable childhood. Though all of that changed the day she received her Hogwarts letter (naturally). Being the first of her year to be sorted into Hufflepuff, Nora made it her goal in her school life to become engaged in as much as possible to widen her options. To be honest, Nora was actually a hatstall, having to choose between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, the former of which she clearly chose. Outside of the classroom, Nora has strived since her third year to promote the Hogwarts Squawker (formerly the Hogwarts Chatterbox), a newspaper she co-founded with a few Ravenclaw friends of hers. Since it’s first year of publication, the weekly school paper has become wildly popular among Hogwarts students and has kept Nora and her friends very busy. She strongly believes that her peers deserve to know the truth - especially with everything that’s been happening recently - and she’s been hard at work making sure that happens since the Daily Prophet is slowly becoming an unreliable, Ministry-controlled media source. Getting her news stories from London and the wider UK is proving more difficult as the weeks go on, but Nora’s determined more than ever and continues to push her sources. Between the paper and quidditch, Nora also manages to balance her coursework and a social life rather adeptly: it all comes down to being organized, something which Nora is the queen of. However, as events continue to move forward, Nora’s own ambiguous blood status and her penchant for being nosy (journalistic curiosity!) might land her into the middle of something that is more than she can handle.

family; adoptive (muggle) parents, Olivia {40} and Jerome Baumbach {41}; younger sister, Dorie {4}
